Amy Begnal is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (WA) and Clinical Director at Anacortes Psych & Wellness. She has a strong desire to work with individuals, families, or couples who hope to experience an increased satisfaction in their relationships with themselves or with others. Amy offers a gentle and nonjudgmental therapeutic process to help facilitate change. She utilizes mindfulness-based approaches to guide clients to become more aware of automatic thoughts that result in undesirable circumstances or behaviors. Her interests include working with clients to improve parent-child, family, or couple relationships as well as helping individuals explore ways to cope with feelings of anxiety, depression, or trauma. Amy is dedicated to altruistic efforts including supporting military families, homeless outreach, domestic abuse advocacy, and animal welfare. Additionally, she is a mother and a wife who enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling, engaging in physical activity, and seeking opportunities for personal growth.

Lea Kennedy is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Anacortes Psych & Wellness serving individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan. In individual therapy, she desires to help clients learn and deepen their understanding of how to be with themselves in a more accepting and loving way. Working with couples and families, she hopes to aid her clients towards relational stability that results in feeling more authentic, connected, and fulfilled.
Because Lea sees her clients as the richly intricate and beautiful beings that they are, her integrative approach melds evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy with sincerity, compassion, and validation. Lea offers warmth, humor, and curiosity while helping clients forge a path of acceptance, continued growth, and contentment. Lea is passionate about working with clients who experience mental and emotional needs including anxiety and depression, grief and loss, trauma, challenging dynamics in couples and families, perinatal/postpartum issues and the LGBTQIA+ community.
Lea is an avid learner of holistic practices she can incorporate into her therapy sessions including meditation, art therapy techniques, somatic experiencing, breathing methods, and dream work. As well as being a wife and mother, Lea enjoys long walks, tea and coffee, reading and listening to music.
Lea is constantly inspired and humbled by how clients show up in their vulnerability and motivation to lean in and do the work to change.

Katie is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate at Anacortes Psych & Wellness and a licensed school counselor with 8 years of experience in behavioral skills programs and comprehensive high schools. She is passionate about working with and supporting teens (13+) and adults as they clarify goals and discover unique pathways to their authentic selves. Katie's clinical expertise includes anxiety, depression, self-esteem, school-related issues, the LGBTQIA+ community, ADHD, trauma, and life transitions, in addition to family dynamics. Katie utilizes an eclectic approach often combining various techniques such as humor, Narrative Counseling, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to encourage individuals to better understand themselves, their motivations, and their relationships with others. In addition to traditional therapy, she can take a coaching approach with clients to practice skill-building around emotional awareness, healthy habits, and coping skills. Ultimately, Katie forms a holistic partnership with her clients in order to support them in their ongoing journey toward wellness and self-understanding.
Katie's favorite forms of stress relief include exploring the beautiful natural areas around Anacortes with her two young children or snuggling up with a good book with Lucy, her adorable yet ladylike corgi.

Lena Tello is a Licensed Mental Health Associate Counselor specializing in trauma. She provides compassionate and effective support to adults, adolescents, and children (6 to 10). Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic therapy, sand-tray therapy, Strengths-based Approaches, and Narrative therapy to address emotional challenges and foster healing. For children, she utilizes various trauma-based interventions, including Trauma-focused CBT, Trust-based relational interventions, and child-centered play therapy. Lena is passionate about helping clients overcome various challenges, including depression, anxiety, PTSD or trauma, school challenges, life transitions, gender identity concerns, and relationship challenges. By tailoring interventions to each individual’s unique needs, she strives to create a safe and empowering environment for personal growth and recovery.
Lena is also passionate about systemic injustices, especially those who belong to minority communities and the LGBTQ+ community. These areas of interest originate from her desire to understand every person's unique intersectionalities and identities that make them who they are. This lens allows her clients to understand their own worldview and how they exist in society.
During her free time, Lena enjoys listening to music, game nights, finding a new TV series, and going to the beach.

In 2018, Drs Eleni Boosalis & Lauren Fisher are the co-founders of Del Ray Psych & Wellness located in Alexandria, VA (a suburb of Washington DC). Their vision was to create an inclusive holistic psychotherapy practice to help support children and adults along their journeys of healing and growth. In 2023, they decided to open Anacortes Psych & Wellness under the direction of Clinical Director Amy Begnal, LMHC, who elected to return home to the Pacific North West after working with the organization for 4 years. They are beyond excited to see their vision carried out by Director Amy Begnal and the Anacortes team.
